Real Golf de Bendinat is a very scenic course set amongst the luxury properties of the Bendinat estate. Being only 10 minutes from Palma city, it is very convenient for both city and resort hotels of the south west of Mallorca.
With the imposing Castillo Bendinat as a backdrop, spectacular views of the bay of Palma and surrounding areas are afforded from elevated tee locations at certain points on the course. Martin Hawtree designed the course and it was originally just 9 holes, but extended to 18 holes from the original design in 1995.
Bendinat can be considered a challenging course to play and some previous knowledge of playing there is a great help. A blind tee shot on the first hole may look daunting, but as long as the drive is straight all should be well. Nestled between valleys and hillsides you will find blind tee shots, doglegs, tight fairways, and greens bordered with bunkers and pine trees. Despite these challenges, Bendinat is a firm favourite and is often requested in multi course packages.
Having a course length of 5,660 m (par-70) Bendinat is one of the shorter courses in Mallorca, but an enjoyable experience. Due to the hilly terrain buggies are essential. It can be walked, but on a hot day even the fittest will feel they have had a work out.
After your round of golf a cold drink on the clubhouse’s large terrace overlooking the 18th green is an ideal way to relax. Restaurante Eagle, with indoor and outdoor dining areas offers an excellent menu of quality, including their superb paella. The restaurant is a great venue and is often frequented by some of Mallorca’s famous residents, some of them also play this captivating course.
Bendinat is a unique and picturesque course that many of our clients return to each year. However, if you’re a higher handicap player you may not want this challenge on your first day.
Do I Need a Buggy?
Bendinat is a very hilly and undulating course, so we strongly recommend a buggy. Please note that buggies must be kept to paths at all times.
